A case of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor with cystic degeneration

A 51-year-old man was referred to our hospital for an examination of a pancreatic mass with cysts noted during physical two years ago. Computed tomography showed 12 mm large hyper vascularized tumor in the pancreas, and diffusion MRI low signal same area. As EUS multifocal cysts, we considered diagnosis pNEN performed subtotal gastric preservation pancreaticoduodenectomy. Pathological small round atypical cell clusters. Immunostaining positive Chromogranin A, Synaptophysin, CD56, glucagon, mitotic count less than 2/10 HPF. This led NEN G1. In pNEN, cystic changes are more likely occur cases glucagon production immunostaining. it is important differentiate between MCN, evaluation including immunostaining may be useful.
